After 10 days of violent military campaign that resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries, the Israeli army operation in the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank has ended.

The Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA) reported that Israeli forces withdrew from the city of Jenin and its camp in the West Bank after 10 days of continuous military operations that resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries, and left widespread destruction.

The Israeli military did not immediately confirm the report, but said only that “Israeli forces are still active in order to achieve the objectives of the counter-terrorism operation.”

21 Palestinians, including children and the elderly, were killed and others were injured, some seriously, in the Israeli aggression on the Jenin Governorate, which was described as bloody and the most violent since 2002.

Palestinian reports also said the Israeli army had also withdrawn from the city of Tulkarm in the northwestern West Bank, where it had carried out smaller-scale military operations.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah said that a 13-year-old girl was killed after being shot in the chest on Friday evening, following an attack by settlers, under the protection of Israeli forces, on the village of Qaryut, south of Nablus.

On the 28th of last month, the Israeli army announced the start of a military operation to target Palestinian militants in the West Bank, which it called “Summer Camps.”

Conditions in the West Bank have deteriorated dramatically since the war in Gaza began after Hamas launched attacks on Israel on October 7. Since then, more than 700 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli military operations, clashes, or self-inflicted attacks in the West Bank, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

Palestinian reports indicated that Israel arrested 10,300 Palestinians during raids in the West Bank under the pretext of arresting wanted persons since October 7.
