Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his main political opponent, Benny Gantz, announced that they had reached an agreement to form an emergency government and a war cabinet. In their joint statement, they mention that another opposition leader, the centrist Yaïr Lapid, who is not included in the agreement, will however have a “reserved” place in that cabinet which, according to the leaders, will lead the country while the war lasts.
