Rafah: Five people died on Friday morning in an intensive care unit after Israeli troops attacked southern Gaza’s main hospital, which left it in chaos and cut off oxygen supplies. Gaza’s Health Ministry gave this information. Israeli soldiers are searching the hospital. They believe the remains of hostages kidnapped by Hamas may be there. Israeli troops stormed Nasser Hospital in the southern city of Khan Yunis after besieging it for almost a week.
Claim of death in Israeli army firing
One patient was killed and six others were wounded after Israeli troops opened fire on Thursday, according to staff at a Hamas-run hospital. Israel’s military’s chief spokesman, Daniel Hagari, said the army entered the hospital on Thursday because it had “credible intelligence” that Hamas was holding hostages there whose remains may still be inside. Gaza’s health ministry said five patients died on Friday in an intensive care unit after a power cut cut off oxygen supply to the hospital.
Israeli attack on Lebanon also
Meanwhile, at least 13 people were killed in Israeli air strikes in southern Lebanon on Wednesday. Most of them were women and children. Three fighters from the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, an ally of Gaza’s Hamas hardliners, were also killed. The attacks came just hours after an Israeli soldier was killed in a rocket attack from Lebanon, the worst border shooting in Gaza since the war began on October 7. It also underlined the risks of wider conflict. Gaza ceasefire talks have stalled and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to continue attacks until Hamas is destroyed and those taken hostage during the October 7 attack are freed.
