Tel Aviv: A senior Hamas leader has admitted that the extremist organization’s October 7 attack was aimed at stopping Israel’s normalization of relations with Arab countries. Hamas’ political bureau official Ghazi Hamad made the confession during a livestream with a pro-Palestinian NGO in late June. Hamad praised the October 7 attacks and said they posed a challenge to normalization of relations between Arab countries and Israel. The same Hamas leader had earlier told Lebanese media that Hamas would repeat October 7 again and again.
The attack changed his perspective
Hamad said during the interview that thanks to Western support and its strong economy, Israel reached normal relations with the countries of the region and strengthened itself as an element in the region, but the attacks changed this entire approach. Hamad claimed that Hamas had sent fighters to target the Israeli army’s Gaza brigade and their goal was to destroy this brigade and capture some soldiers.

Also, many countries have broken their contacts with Israel. Hamad stressed, October 7 was a slap on the progress of normalization and it is definitely a very important political success. What happened on October 7?
