Jakarta: The world’s largest Muslim country Indonesia is going to normalize its relations with the Jewish country Israel for the first time. In return, Israel will now support Indonesia in the OECD, an organization of developed countries. This will now pave the way for Indonesia to become a member of OECD. According to Israeli media reports, Indonesia has agreed to this after confidential talks that lasted for about 3 months. An Israeli official has confirmed this. Indonesia is going to recognize Israel at a time when hatred towards Israel has increased worldwide and Muslim countries from Iran to Pakistan are angry over the Gaza war. Meanwhile, an Indonesian official has denied this.

It is believed that OECD Secretary General Matthias Kormann has also played an important role in preparing Indonesia. Korman had earlier played an important role in changing Indonesia’s harsh attitude towards Israel. After this, Israel was adamant that relations should be normalized for the first time. After several weeks of negotiations, Korman wrote a letter to Israel informing that he had convinced Indonesia regarding Indonesia and an agreement had been reached.

Israel gives approval to Indonesia

On Tuesday, for the first time, Israel gave Indonesia permission to drop relief material by air in Gaza. This was considered a sign of improving relations between the two. The current President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, has close relations with Israel, especially business, but he avoids making it known to everyone. Actually, Indonesia wanted to become a member of OECD but for this it needed the approval of all 38 members. The member country joining it also has to build relations with all other countries. Israel is also included in this.

Israel had opposed the inclusion of Indonesia without recognition. This step of Indonesia is being considered a big blow to Hamas, Iran and its supporters. Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces have said that the three sons of Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed in the airstrike, were associated with the military wing of Hamas and were involved in taking Israelis hostage. Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office said that PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Galant were not aware of the airstrike. According to sources in the Prime Minister’s Office, Wednesday’s airstrike was ordered by a colonel from the IDF’s Southern Command. Ismail Haniyeh is the head of Hamas’ political bureau and lives in Qatar.

Haniyeh’s four grandchildren were killed

Haniyeh’s three sons – Hazel, Amir and Mohammed – were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a car near the al-Shati refugee camp in Gaza City. Hanieh’s four grandchildren were also killed in the attack. A senior Hamas leader clarified on Wednesday that his son and grandchildren were killed in an Israeli airstrike. The IDF said the three were part of the Qassim Brigades, the military wing of Hamas. “Thank God for honoring his martyrdom,” Ismail Haniyeh said in a statement. Meanwhile, Haniyeh’s eldest son, Abdel Salam Haniyeh, said in a social media post: ‘Thank you to God who honored us with the martyrdom of my brothers Hazel, Amir and Mohammed.’
