The Israeli army could launch a sudden and sharp attack on Lebanon at any moment in response to the escalation by the armed units of the Hezbollah organization. This warning was given by Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant during a visit to one of the military units in the north of the country, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.
“We are conducting limited combat operations in the northern region. We are using a small part of the power of the IDF, but everything can change in an instant – from the main efforts in the south (in the Gaza Strip – TASS) to the main efforts in the north. And this will be fast, unexpected and very sharp. This can also happen as a result of the actions [“Хезболлах”]”, the minister said, as quoted by The Times of Israel.
At the same time, he reiterated that Israel is still ready to resolve the situation through agreements with Hezbollah. “This region has nothing to do with what is happening in the south. If Hezbollah wants to reach an agreement with us and come to a situation in which it withdraws from the border line to areas beyond the Litani River, as stipulated by the UN resolution, then there will be an agreement with them,” he noted.
