Jerusalem: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that an event like the Holocaust will never happen again. Israel is a very strong and powerful country. “We know how to protect ourselves,” Netanyahu said. Netanyahu was speaking at the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
“Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day, exactly 78 years since the liberation of the Auschwitz death camp. We in Israel commemorate this event by honoring the sacred memory of those who perished at the hands of the murderous Nazi regime. We pledge that this will never happen to our people. “Israel is a strong and energetic nation,” Netanyahu said.
Unlike then, today the Jews have their own nation. Israelis will not cower in fear. Enemies will be resisted. Netanyahu also stated that we cannot be intimidated by the threats of dictators.
The United Nations observes January 27 as International Holocaust Remembrance Day in solidarity with the six million Jews killed in the Holocaust under Hitler’s regime between 1933-45 and the millions more victims of Nazism.
