Israel has won a “deal of the century”. The Jewish state will provide Germany with the ultimate in military technology in the form of Arrow 3 batteries specialized in intercepting missiles outside the atmosphere for a total amount of 3.5 billion dollars. The war in Ukraine thus confirms its role as a godsend for Israel’s arms exports to Europe.
The deal was closed thanks to the green light given by the US State Department. The United States indeed has a right of veto on exports insofar as they partly financed the Arrow 3 project with which Boeing was associated in particular with the public group Israel Aerospace Industries for the technical part.
