Tehran: Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad has performed a surprising feat in Iran. Mossad had successfully infiltrated the top levels of Iran’s intelligence agency. Former President of Iran Ahmadinejad has revealed this. According to the New York Sun report, the former Iranian President says that the group of Iranian spies created to spy on Israel was taken under control by Mossad. Iranian spies were working as double agents for Mossad.
Israeli agent becomes head of Iranian intelligence unit
Ahmadinejad claimed that the Mossad had installed his man at the head of an Iranian intelligence agency which was passing all information to Israel. Ahmadinejad made these claims in an interview with CNN’s Turkish language affiliate CNN Turk. Ahmadinejad claimed that the goal of the Mossad operation was to steal information about Iran’s nuclear program.
Ahmadinejad told the outlet that the head of the counter-Israel unit in the Iranian intelligence ministry was an Israeli agent. The former president claimed that the Mossad infiltrated Iranian intelligence services for a highly complex operation. This also includes stealing important nuclear documents.
Two dozen spies in Iranian intelligence
According to the TurkeyToday report, Ahmadinejad said that about two dozen Iranians in Iran’s intelligence were working as spies for the Mossad. This is not the first time that Israel’s Mossad has activated its operatives for missions inside Iran. Six years ago in 2018, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel had obtained a trove of files related to Iran’s nuclear weapons program.
When Mossad launched the operation at midnight
Six years ago, in a daring espionage operation, Mossad agents conducted a midnight operation in Tehran and stole more than 100,000 documents detailing Iran’s nuclear weapons development. In the operation that lasted 6 hours, more than two dozen agents cut into the safes in the warehouse to access the documents. Netanyahu later presented these documents to the world in Tel Aviv, which prompted US President Donald Trump to pull out of the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran.
