The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation revealed that “the Israeli authorities have opened an underground prison for detainees from the Hamas movement and the Lebanese Hezbollah movement, which is not exposed to sunlight.”

The report indicated that “about 75 detainees from the elite force of Hamas and the Radwan Force of Hezbollah are currently detained in the underground prison, the smallest windows of which have been closed to completely obscure it.”

The broadcaster said, “The detainees there are handcuffed and detained in their cells for 23 hours a day.”

She added: “It is allowed to go out once a day to a small closed yard, but this yard also does not reach the sun’s rays.” She continued, “The detainees in this prison only receive a mattress on the ground and limited amounts of food.”

The report explained that “the Israeli authorities classify these detainees as “highly dangerous,” and they are not expected to be released for a long time, if that happens at all.”

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir said during a tour of the prison: “He will not deal with them with tolerance. Look at them, how weak they are!”

For its part, the Prisoners’ Information Office published a video of Ben Gvir’s visit to the prison, commenting: “Once again, the extremist Ben Gvir is strengthening the defenseless prisoners in a video from one of the prisons in which he shows insulting the prisoners.”
