The Population and Immigration Authority selected the Israel Post in a tender for the distribution of passports, private and business, for the Authority for a period of 36 months with the possibility of extension. The financial scope of the tender is estimated at more than NIS 10 million per year.
A number of forwarding companies participated in the tender, the results of which were announced over the weekend, with Israel Post beating competitors’ bids with a service offer that includes the distribution of passports in a registered mail process combining advanced monitoring, control and identification systems.
Danny Goldstein, CEO of Israel Post, noted that “the distribution of sensitive documents such as a personal passport requires a combination of skilled and reliable personnel, transportation and nationwide deployment capabilities, and advanced and secure computer systems. The choice of the Population and Immigration Authority at the Israel Post joins other entities from the public and private sectors, including finance, health and communications companies, which choose the Israel Post to handle the delivery of sensitive items to their customers, quickly and responsibly. “
In recent years, the Israel Postal Company has overtaken competitors in various tenders, in the competitive market of domestic delivery of postal items and monitored packages. Among other things, the Israel Post won a tender from the courts’ administration for the delivery of letters of intent, and a tender from the Population and Immigration Authority for the distribution of identity cards throughout the country.
