The FIBA ​​Executive Committee, which met in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, announced this morning (Saturday) that the pre-Olympic tournament in the summer of 2024 for women and men in 3×3 basketball will be held in Israel. This means that the Israeli national teams will be able to make history and advance to the Paris 2024 Olympics, in games that will be held in Israel in front of the home crowd.

The 3×3 team tournament is part of the basketball branch, in Tokyo 2020 the branch was added to the Olympic Games for the first time. The Latvian national team surprised by winning the gold in Grimm and the US national team with Jackie Young who played in AS Ramat Hasharon uniform won as expected in the women’s.

8 women’s and 8 men’s teams will participate in the pre-Olympic tournament, one of which is Israel and another 7 that did not qualify for Rio 2016 or Tokyo 2021. The winner of the women’s and men’s tournament will qualify for next summer’s Olympic Games in Paris.
