In Israel, on November 23, a campaign to vaccinate children aged five to 11 against the coronavirus begins, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said at a weekly government meeting.

Large volumes of Pfizer children’s vaccine have already been delivered to Israel for this purpose. According to Bennett, the drug is “adapted specifically for children, the dose is only a third of the adult.”

“Millions of children around the world have already been vaccinated with it, mainly in the United States, the vaccine is safe and effective,” Bennett said (quoted by TASS).

Children over 12 years old in Israel began to vaccinate against coronavirus at the end of June.

The first country to introduce compulsory coronavirus vaccination for children was Costa Rica. The Central American country has signed a contract with Pfizer for 3.5 million doses of coronavirus vaccine, 1.5 million of which are for children aged 5-11.

In November, the third phase of clinical trials of the Sputnik M adolescent coronavirus vaccine began in Moscow, with 3,000 children aged 12-17 taking part in it. Vaccination with “Sputnik M” is carried out in two stages, as with “Sputnik V” for people over 18 years of age, but the dosage of the vaccine for children is five times less than for adults.
