The women’s goalball team (Shari Ben David)
The women’s goalball team beat the Canadian team 2:4 today (Friday), and won the bronze medal at the World Championship, which is being held in Portugal. Lihya Ben David came into the game injured, but scored three goals and was chosen as the outstanding player of the match.
Raz Shoham’s players lost in the semi-finals to Turkey with a score of 4:2 after defeating a number of teams during the tournament including Brazil, Japan and Turkey and recorded a great tournament for them, after less than a month ago they won the European Championship tournament and moved up to Tier A.
The team in blue and white consists of players from Beit HaLochem in Tel Aviv and affiliates of a school for the blind. The captain of the team is Gal Hamrani, with whom Ilham Mahmid Razin, Lihya Ben David, Roni Ohion, Uri Mizrahi and Noa Malka play.
