The Israeli army announced that the head of Hamas’s military wing, Mohammed Deif, was killed in an airstrike in Gaza on July 13.

The Israeli army stated that it was able to confirm Deif’s death in Khan Younis through reliable information gathered in the last hours.

Hamas has not yet made any comment.

Deif was considered the “mastermind” of Hamas’s attack on October 7.

As one of the leading figures in Hamas, Deif rose through the ranks of the organization over 30 years, developing its tunnel network and expertise in bomb-making.

For decades, he has been at the top of Israel’s most wanted list and is considered personally responsible for the deaths of dozens of Israelis in suicide bombings.
