/ A Hezbollah military official was seriously injured on Thursday, along with another person who was with him, after a car was targeted by a drone in the city of Nabatieh, southern Lebanon, according to a security source.

The Lebanese security source said, according to what was published by Sky News, that “the attack was Israeli, as the car was targeted near the statue of Hassan Kamel Al-Sabah at the entrance to the city of Nabatieh.”

She explained that the military official in Hezbollah, Abbas al-Debs, nicknamed “Hajj Abdullah,” was the target of the attack and sustained serious injuries.

Sources monitored the flight of drones believed to be Israeli in the skies of Nabatieh, following the incident.

The Lebanese Hezbollah has been involved in the conflict between Israel and Hamas since last October.

The party has been exchanging attacks with the Israeli army on a daily basis over the past months, across the border between Lebanon and Israel.

It is noteworthy that the city of Nabatieh is relatively far from the Lebanese border with Israel, and has so far remained immune to the escalation between Hezbollah and the Israeli army since the outbreak of the war in the Gaza Strip.
