The deadline given by Israel for the evacuation of the northern area of Gaza ends this Saturday afternoon, at 3 pm in Paris, at a time when the possibility of a land invasion by Israeli forces appears to be imminent.

This Friday, October 13, the Israeli armed forces gave 24 hours to evacuate civilians from Gaza, a deadline that was extended until mid-afternoon this Saturday.

Israeli forces asked more than a million people to move from the north of Gaza to the south, at a time when tens of thousands have already abandoned their homes, according to the United Nations.

This displacement of civilians takes place exactly one week after the incursion by the Hamas armed group, at a time when tension between the two factions is increasing, after Israel has concentrated tanks for a possible land invasion, which could be imminent.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister, says he will be able to “eradicate Hamas and bring victory”, warning that this is “just the beginning”.

The UN has already warned that the evacuation of all civilians will be very difficult, since the enclave of the Gaza Strip, controlled by Hamas since 2007, is deprived of electricity, food and water supply and that this could cause a “catastrophic situation” in Gaza.

It should be noted that the number of victims continues to increase, following this war fought between Israel and the Hamas group.

There is already a record of a total of more than two thousand deaths on the Palestinian side and 1,300 on the Israeli side. Meanwhile, Palestinian health authorities reported today that Israeli bombings of the Gaza Strip have already resulted in the deaths of 324 Palestinians in the last 24 hours alone. In the West Bank, there is also a record of the deaths of 54 Palestinians, according to the same source.

Meanwhile, in southern Lebanon, a video operator for the Reuters news agency lost his life and six other journalists were injured in the same location, following Israeli bombings.

15 French people killed in Israel and 16 missing

The French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna, yesterday presented a new provisional balance of victims, following the conflict in Israel. There are already records of 15 French people dead, 16 missing and the executive believes that many of these people may have been kidnapped by the Palestinian group Hamas.

Meanwhile, the first two French repatriation flights have already arrived in the French capital, the first on Friday with more than 360 people on board and the second last night with more than three hundred. The special flights were operated by the French flag carrier, Air France, and more flights are planned this weekend.

The head of French diplomacy is also expected to travel to Israel this Sunday, to monitor the situation in the country.
