Israelis have begun to switch to e-wallets as they are more convenient to use thanks to their availability through mobile apps, allowing them to quickly make payments anytime, anywhere.

This was reported by the publication “Details”.

According to SHEBA, a company that specializes in servicing transactions using credit cards, in February of this year, Israelis set a new record – e-wallets accounted for almost 28 percent of the amount our citizens spent on purchases. This payment method is turning out to be the preferred one for many Israelis.

The company also noted that in Israel, transactions worth more than 4.5 billion shekels were concluded using e-wallets, which is an 87 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

For the first time in our country, people began to use the Apple Pay electronic wallet in the summer of 2021; since then, the volume of transactions concluded using the new payment method has increased almost 17 times.

“Cursor” wrote earlier that the cost of living in Israel continues to rise; now the average Israeli family pays 175 shekels more per month for energy (gasoline, cooking gas and electricity) compared to last year.
