Israeli forces have struck a group of armed Palestinian radicals from the Hamas movement, which, according to Israel, was operating on the territory of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) compound.

As reported by Day.Az with reference to TASS, the army press service reported this.

“Some time ago, based on intelligence from the IDF and the General Security Service, the IDF attacked a number of Hamas terrorists who were operating in the Hamas terrorist infrastructure in the Az-Zeitoun area. The terrorist infrastructure was used as the headquarters of the Hamas Gaza City Brigade and as an UNRWA compound,” the statement said.

The army assured that before the strike, “numerous measures were taken to reduce the risk of harm to civilians, including the use of aerial surveillance, precision munitions and additional intelligence.”
