ISRO Chief: India Ready to Implement PM Modi’s Target for Space Programmes, Calls for More Investment

Bengaluru: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is ready to implement the target set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding India’s space programmes, according to ISRO Chief K Sivan Somnath. He emphasized the need for increased investment in the space industry during a recent press conference.

Speaking to reporters, Somnath stated, “India has the capability to travel to the Moon, Mars, and Venus. However, it requires a lot of investment. We are ready to implement the target given by Prime Minister Modi regarding India’s space programmes. By developing the space industry, the entire nation should develop. That is our aim.”

In relation to the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft, Somnath expressed his satisfaction with its successful landing on the moon, stating, “We are very happy that Chandrayaan-3 has successfully landed on the moon. Most science objectives are going to be accomplished. The next 13-14 days are critical.”

Highlighting their expectations for the upcoming days, Somnath added, “We look forward to those days. We will provide a lot of data from the moon. In doing so, we hope to make great progress in science.”
