Upon arrival, police, firefighters, and medical teams gained access to the apartment from the balcony. They discovered a gas tube open and a lighting device connected to it. The air hung heavy with an intense odor, and a pot of food was found cooking on the stove. Tragically, Abdülaziz Malay (72), his cohabitant Fatema Jabara (45), and their daughter Zehra Malay (6) were found deceased.
Gülbahar Malay (36), the family’s other daughter, was found alive but disabled and was instantly transported to a hospital for emergency medical attention.
