Beitar Jerusalem is on the way to further strengthening: after the signings of the stopper Sergey Borodin and the goalkeeper Miguel Silva, the Russian-Jewish defender with Israeli citizenship, Grigory Morozov (28), agreed with the team until the end of the season with an option for another season. Morozov’s strong foot is his right, and he can play as a right and left defender. He is expected to land in Israel tomorrow (Tuesday), and will not be considered a foreigner.

The defender who played for the last season and a half in Celija from the third place in the Slovenian league made 14 appearances in the media this season and scored three times. He grew up in Dynamo Moscow and made 119 appearances in the media, in which he scored four goals and assisted three more. He also played in all the youth teams of Russia.

Even earlier, goalkeeper Miguel Silva from Maritimo passed the medical tests at Beitar Jerusalem, received the shirt number 55 and will join training tomorrow. Tonight (between Monday and Tuesday) he landed at Ben Gurion Airport and Beitar hope he will get acclimatized soon. He is of course expected to be the first goalkeeper of the yellow-blacks until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old Silva recorded 11 games this season in the uniform of his Portuguese team, and in all of them he conceded, as he put a total of 31 balls out of the net. Maritimo is placed 17th and penultimate in the local league, with 13 points after 17 rounds. Silva himself also moved to the Cypriot Apoel Nicosia and the Portuguese Guimarães and made seven career appearances in the Europa League.

Alongside this, the Jerusalemites continue their attempts to get stronger, with Dan Biton, Dor Turgeman and Aviv Solomon nominated for a team from the capital. Beitar has agreed all the conditions with Biton and are waiting to receive the green light from Barak Itzhaki to carry out the transfer from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. In addition to that, they are trying to get rid of Eduardo Guerrero, who was offered to several teams in the Premier League and the National League.
