After his first double-goal game, Tim Kleindienst raved about a “fantastic” evening, but did he immediately get “completely detached”? That is not the concern of the down-to-earth Brandenburger.
“I’m not going to run around the pitch without a shirt,” said the Borussia Mönchengladbach striker with his characteristic dry humor. But, of course: the first international goal in only the third performance, then the second immediately after – “it couldn’t be better, it couldn’t be nicer”.
Tim Kleindienst: “It’s hard, you can’t get out of your skin”
To reach the summit, Kleindienst had to “be more lazy,” as the national coach demanded. In his first match in October in Bosnia and Herzegovina (2-1) and in his second appearance against the Netherlands (1-0), Kleindienst overextended himself, said Julian Nagelsmann, and suffered thereby threatening the target.
“It’s difficult, you can’t get out of your skin,” said the 1.94m-tall attacker after the game 7:0 (3:0) in the League of Nations against the Bosnians in Freiburg, “but it’s easier to do less than if you had to do more at the same time.”
Nagelsmann called this “more economical play” and was accordingly happy with the second double-packer alongside the magical leg of Florian Wirtz. Kleindienst “did better” than a month ago. “He still had three or four great possessions, but it’s no use if you no longer have the strength to score goals.”
What surprises him the most is that the man from Gladbach has reached “the top” at the ripe old age of 29 and after spells at Cottbus, Freiburg, Heidenheim and Ghent.
“When you’re driving to the courses, look down quickly and then see the federal eagle, then you think: Hallelujah, now you’re at the top, where you always wanted to be.” (dpa/can)
How important is emotional resilience for soccer players like Tim Kleindienst at the international level?
Interview between the Time.news Editor and Soccer Expert Dr. Leona Fischer on Tim Kleindienst’s Remarkable Performance
Time.news Editor: Good afternoon, Dr. Fischer. Thanks for joining us today to discuss the exciting recent performance of Borussia Mönchengladbach striker Tim Kleindienst. His double-goal game against Bosnia-Herzegovina seems to have captured the attention of soccer fans everywhere.
Dr. Leona Fischer: Good afternoon! Yes, Kleindienst really had a magical evening on the pitch. Scoring his first international goals is no small feat, especially in his third match!
Time.news Editor: He mentioned feeling “fantastic” after the game. What do you think contributed to his success during that match?
Dr. Leona Fischer: It’s likely a mix of factors. Tim’s natural talent as a striker plays a huge role, but we also have to consider the support from his teammates and the game strategy set by the coach. When players understand their roles and feel supported, they often perform better.
Time.news Editor: He certainly showed humility in not wanting to celebrate too extravagantly. His quote about not running around the pitch without his shirt highlights that trait. What does this say about his personality?
Dr. Leona Fischer: That shows a grounded nature, which is essential in high-pressure sports environments. Staying humble allows players to remain focused, not just on their performances but on the team’s overall success. It’s a sign of a mature athlete.
Time.news Editor: He described the experience as “couldn’t be better, couldn’t be nicer.” How crucial is this kind of emotional response for a player’s development at the international level?
Dr. Leona Fischer: An emotional response like that is vital. Scoring can boost a player’s confidence, which may carry over to future games. Experiencing joy and fulfillment at this level enhances motivation and helps develop mental resilience.
Time.news Editor: Was there anything specifically about his playing style during this match that stood out to you?
Dr. Leona Fischer: Absolutely. Kleindienst demonstrated excellent positional awareness and timing—key traits for successful strikers. His ability to read the game, make sharp runs, and finish under pressure was impressive. These attributes not only helped him score but also opened up space for other players.
Time.news Editor: He played his third international game—do you think we can expect even more from him in the future?
Dr. Leona Fischer: Definitely! With each game, a player gains more experience and learns to cope with the pressures of international play. If he continues this trajectory and has the right support, we might see him becoming a key player for his national team.
Time.news Editor: It’s always thrilling to see young players like Kleindienst rise to prominence. Thank you, Dr. Fischer, for your insights into his performance and the implications for his career.
Dr. Leona Fischer: Thank you for having me! I look forward to seeing how Tim continues to develop as a player.
