Proceedings for violations of the legislation on foreigners and false testimony were filed against a foreigner, who was arrested on Wednesday afternoon in the border area of Thesprotia by police officers of the 1st Department of Border Protection of Filiaton.
Regarding the timing of the case, the police identified the defendant, who lacked travel documents and, as it turned out, had previously entered the country illegally, while an entry ban was pending against him.
From the further control and dactyloscopic examination by the Criminal Investigations Office of the Thesprotia Police Department, it emerged that the accused was also marked with different identification details, on the basis of which he was prosecuted with an arrest warrant issued by Investigator Ilias for theft and a decision of the Three-Member Criminal Appeal Court of Patras , with a total prison sentence of five years and two months and a fine of 2,000 euros, similarly for the crime of theft.
