President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is on a visit to Germany today. In addition to meetings with the president and chancellor, he also attended the Charlemagne Prize ceremony in Aachen. Also there is Svetlana Tikhanovskaya and other representatives of the democratic forces, Veronika Tsepkalo, a member of the “female trio” and Tatyana Khomich, sister of Maria Kolesnikova. Volodymyr Zelensky greeted Svetlana Tikhanovskaya during the performance, and the politicians also shook hands, according to Tikhanovskaya’s press secretary Anna Krasulina.

Vladimir Zelensky and Svetlana Tikhanovskaya have not yet met in person. Also, there has not been a single visit of a Belarusian politician to Ukraine yet. Cabinet Representative for International Affairs Valery Kovalevsky in January of this year, he noted that the Ukrainian authorities were blocking the participation of Svetlana Tikhanovskaya in joint events.

“Ukraine is fighting very hard battles, it is being bombarded with missiles and drones, and there is still a danger that there may be an invasion from the north, from the territory of Belarus. They have a different paradigm today. We have our tragedy, they have theirs. And very often they are incompatible. And the fact that now there is no opportunity to discuss the agenda with the Ukrainian side does not mean that this will not happen in a week,” Kovalevsky explained and noted that the Belarusian democratic forces would continue to support Ukraine.

Recall that the other day, Vladimir Zelensky, in an interview with the Italian media, expressed his opinion about Belarus:

— I don’t think that Belarus is Russia. Russia is doing everything to make Russia out of Belarus. Not even in such a way as to make it a part of Russia… But people, more than 70% of the population of Belarus today are against Russia, upset by the war, support Ukraine. And that’s already a big difference. This means that, despite the information policy and any narratives, Belarusians are fighting.

Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the Belarusian society is fighting and will remain independent, despite the fact that “on television, on the Internet and in newspapers they say that Russia is your brother, and Ukraine is an enemy.”

– It’s difficult, it’s also a war. They don’t have victims, but they have lost people who have been brainwashed. This is a war for independence, freedom of choice. They realize they might be next. They, Moldova or the Baltic States – who’s next? – summed up the President of Ukraine.
