Footage of the Karabakh University, which will become the center of science and education in Azerbaijan in the near future, has been circulated on social media.
As reported by Day.Az on Friday, this was announced by the Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan Emin Amrullayev on his social network account.
It should be noted that by the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated November 28, 2023, the Karabakh University was established. The start of classes at the newly established Karabakh University is scheduled for September 15, 2024.
By the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated February 6, 2024, the Charter of the Karabakh University was approved. On February 15, 2024, by the order of President Ilham Aliyev, 10 million manats were allocated from the reserve fund of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan to organize the activities of the Karabakh University.
Let us recall that Karabakh historically had a tradition of higher education. In 1969, the first higher education institution was founded in Karabakh – a branch of the Azerbaijan Pedagogical Institute. It functioned as a higher education institution from 1973 to 1988. During the occupation, it ceased its activities.
