Pollachi, : Near the Sub-Collector’s office, Pollachi, on the newly constructed road, the pipe has broken, leaking drinking water and getting stuck.
In areas under Pollachi municipality, road widening works are underway to control traffic congestion.
In this, roundabout construction works and road renovation works have been completed on major roads including Coimbatore– Palakkad road, Pollachi— Udumalai roads.
On the renovated road, near the entrance of the Sub-Collector’s office, a pipe broke and water was gushing out in vain.
Motorists were inconvenienced as work was also underway to repair the pipe at the point where vehicles return from the roundabout.
In this case, the pipe break has been repaired and a barricade has been placed there. In Sub-Collector’s office and municipal office areas, breaking and sticking of drinking water pipes has become a common practice. The municipal authorities should replace the weak pipes to avoid frequent breaks in the drinking water pipes.
Avoid breakage and wastage of drinking water. Steps should also be taken to rehabilitate the road in the potholed area.
