“Today, he came to the headquarters and informed that he no longer really wants to participate in politics. He said that he has a good job offer, and he is 45 years old, he said that he does not want to be a member of the Seimas for the rest of his life. He said it was now or never. This is a personal decision of each person,” J. Pinskus said to Eltai.
“In a very reasoned way, he clearly stated that he no longer wants to participate in politics. Probably, he wants to organize his life in a different way,” he added.
The former chairman of the Labor Party, A. Mazuronis, previously stated that he will participate in the Seimas elections with the Party of Regions of Lithuania and will be a candidate in the Šiauliai single-mandate district. He was listed as number four in the multitasking list.
However, on Monday, A. Mazuronis announced his decision to leave politics on social networks.
“Increasingly doubting whether I am really doing what I have to do and am where I have to be, today I decided to withdraw from the upcoming elections of the LR Seimas in both multi-mandate and single-mandate constituencies. I am suspending all my political activities, and for a while only life will tell. The desire for change in life has won,” A. Mazuronis writes on his Facebook account.
A. Mazuronis left the Labor Party after the unsuccessful European Parliament (EP) elections.
Seimas elections will be held on October 13 this year.
