(Web Desk) Due to the poor condition of the Pakistan film industry, it was decided to change it to another historic Prince cinema theater in Lahore.

In the 1970s, more than 200 films were made and released annually in Pakistan, but gradually the film industry declined and now the situation is that only about a dozen films are released annually, due to which filmmakers, directors associated with the film industry , artists and other technical experts are sitting on their hands, due to the collapse of the film industry, the cinema halls have been deserted, most of which have been demolished and replaced by shopping malls, plazas and theaters.

The 70s and 80s are considered to be the era of the peak of the film industry in Pakistan, when there were around 966 cinemas across the country. According to a film magazine, there were 995 cinemas in 292 cities and tehsils of Pakistan, of which 60% were in Punjab alone, with a total of 620. Every sixth of these cinemas was located in the provincial capital of Lahore.

McLeod Road and Abbott Road cinemas were the biggest markets in Lahore, but most of them have been closed, and the existing ones are also in a very bad condition. Some time ago, the historic Metropole Cinema on Abbott Road was demolished, now it has been converted into Prince Cinema Theater located on Abbott Road. A lot has been done on which work is going on.

It is said about the single screen Prince Cinema located next to Shabistan Cinema on Abbott Road that it was built in 1979 with the earnings of the famous Afaq film “Mulajit”, which has been showing many hit films since then.

Now, due to the low number of films and the ban on the screening of Indian films, the cinema-goers have fallen, due to which the owners of Prince Cinema have decided to convert it into a theater. It is said about this theater that it will be a digital theater where all modern facilities will be available.
