“It is in the Constitution”: AMLO justifies possible overrepresentation

President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador justified that the possible overrepresentation of Morena saying that “it is in the Constitution.”

This Wednesday the head of the Executive responded to the criticism of the Opposition against Morena, that in the next Legislature will have almost 2 thirds of the seats, saying:

“Now they no longer want to respect what is in the Constitution, and then they start saying ‘How if they got 52 percent, 55 percent, are they going to have 66 percent? There is an overrepresentation. Yes, that is what the law establishes, the law of laws, that is what is in the Constitution.”

At the same time, he pointed out that the criticism from the Opposition of what he refers to as a qualified majority is a campaign by the conservative bloc:

It is striking that it is a campaign of the conservative bloc. and of their media (…) they even prefer ridicule, they prefer cretinism and ridicule, and where is the objectivity?

For this reason, he accused that the Opposition’s intention is based on the fact that they do not want changes to be made to the Constitution, in particular with regard to the Judiciaryagainst which he attacked again by saying that it is onerous and that the intention of his opponents is:

He even went further, accusing the Opposition of being in “rebellion” by not wanting to abide by what is in the Constitution and that they are now seeking to violate it when there is:
