It is surprising that Iraq and Afghanistan issues were not discussed in the G20 meeting: Russian Foreign Ministry

by time news

Russian Foreign Minister Sokey Lavrov accused Western countries of raising and condemning the Ukraine issue at the G20 summit held in Delhi and said, ‘Similarly, it is surprising that no one raised the issues of Iraq, Afghanistan and Yugoslavia in the previous G20 meetings.’

Moreover, he said on Friday, ‘It is surprising that everyone is asking Russia if it is ready for talks to end the war, when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a resolution saying that holding talks under the leadership of Russian President Vladimir Putin is a ‘criminal offence’.

India assumed the leadership of the G20 on December 1 last year and has been holding various conferences of the association. Accordingly, a meeting of foreign ministers of the G20 alliance was held in Delhi last Wednesday and Thursday. In this meeting, the Western countries raised the issue of the war that Russia has been waging against Ukraine for more than a year and expressed strong opposition to Russia. While it was expected that a constructive decision would be reached to end this war, there were differences of opinion among the G20 countries on this issue. Because of that, the meeting ended without issuing a joint statement regarding this issue.

Chokei Lavrao gave an interview in Delhi on Friday about this issue:

The leaders of Western countries raised the issue of Ukraine at the G20 meeting held in Delhi on Thursday. Similarly, it is surprising that no one raised the issues of Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan and Yugoslavia in previous G20 meetings.

The G20 was formed to consult on finance and micro-economy and to carry out related development projects. But it is a shame that nothing but the Ukraine issue was raised in the meeting held in Delhi.

Russia has warned the West for years about expanding NATO and building up arms inside Ukraine in preparation for war against Russia. Russia was forced to take this step because the West did not cease operations after adequate warning. European countries are not affected by this move.

The President of the United States and the Secretary General of NATO are openly saying that Russia should be defeated in this fight. It is an expression of the desire of the West to dominate the world.

They may not remember NATO bombing of Sofia.

The attack was carried out when President Joe Biden was a member of the US Senate. Joe Biden bragged that he encouraged this move. Similarly, Iraq was attacked. A few years later, former British Prime Minister Tony Blow declared it wrong. There is a perception that only the US has the right to threaten or warn other countries. He said that no one questioned this.
