Argentina national coach Lionel Scaloni has called for no violence in Monday’s Copa America final from 3 against Colombia.
After Colombia won 1-0 in the semi-final in Charlotte, North Carolina, Uruguay’s players took to the stands and a fight with fans ensued. They revealed that their families were attacked by opposing fans and had to react.
“I hope the supporters have fun. I wish it from the bottom of my heart. Titles bring happiness, but I will be just as happy if the match goes without problems,” Scaloni said, adding that he supported the Uruguayan players who took to the stands to protect their families.
“We want our players to set an example, but if something like this happens, no one will react differently. I hope this incident will go down in history and not be repeated. I don’t know who is to blame in this case, but it must be terrible to watch how someone close to you threatens your family,” the coach of the world champions also said.
