Xavier Brito, the cousin of master filmmaker and actor Vijay, is undergoing an income tax audit at home.
Oppo is a mobile phone maker headquartered in China. Launched in 2004, the company currently operates in over 50 countries. The company complained that it did not pay income tax regularly. Following this, income tax audits have been conducted across the country, including Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai, by related companies, spare parts manufacturing companies, offices and officials’ houses since yesterday.
Accordingly, the test is being conducted at the Oppo mobile phone head office at Old Mahabalipuram Road in Chennai. In addition, Income Tax officials are conducting inspections at 20 locations, including the Foxconn factory complex, Bharat FIH, which manufactures mobile phone spare parts in Sriperumbudur, Kanchipuram district.
Xavier Brito, a master filmmaker and a relative of actor Vijay, has been involved in the export, import and relocation of the mobile phone parts manufacturing company. Based on this, his house in Kasturbai, Adyar, and his offices in Adambakkam are being searched. It is noteworthy that 25 places include his home and offices. It is said that key evidence of tax evasion is stuck in the context of the 2nd day across the country.
