jpnn.comJAKARTA – Deputy Chair of the MPR Lestari Moerdijat said that politicians in Senayan need awareness to understand the essence of the Draft Law on the Protection of Domestic Workers (RUU PPRT) as well as awareness of moving together so that the PPRT law can be realized immediately.

“We hope that at the last plenary session of the DPR for the 2019-2024 period on September 27 2024, this PPRT Bill can be passed into law,” said Lestari Moerdijat.

Lestari said this when opening an online discussion on the theme PPRT Bill Analysis: Protection for Employers and Recipients – from Apriori to Affirmative Action of the Indonesian House of Representatives which was held by the Denpasar 12 Discussion Forum on Wednesday (14/8).

According to Lestari, there are already so many records related to domestic workers (PRT), but the DPR leadership does not care about them.

“This is a big question for us,” said Rerie, Lestari Moerdijat’s nickname.

In fact, said Rerie, if the PPRT Bill is successful in becoming a law, it means that the state places humans as humans, values every human work and values humans as God’s creatures.

“With the essence of protection contained in the PPRT Bill, why did it take 20 years of discussion to make it a law,” said the legislator from Electoral District II of Central Java.

Deputy Chairman of the DPR Legislative Body Willy Aditya, who was present as a resource person in the discussion, revealed that in fact the obstacles in the legislative process for the Draft Law on Sexual Violence (RUU TPKS) were greater due to religious bias, when compared to the current discussion of the RUU PPRT.

Deputy Chairperson of the MPR Lestari Moerdijat continues to highlight that the visit has not completed the discussion of the PPRT Bill to make it into law
