Paraguayan actor Arnaldo André was interviewed by Héctor Maugeri in the living room of “+Caras”. There, they recalled their first performances and focused on a very special one. Arnaldo André participated in several important soap operas for Argentine television; however, his leap to fame came in the 70s, when he played Mirtha Legrand’s boyfriend in the play “40 kilates”.

“In the play 40 kilates, directed by Daniel Tinayre, I played Mirtha’s boyfriend. I was 26 years old and it was the miracle I was hoping for. I hoped they would see me in some theater, on television, in some little scene, because I wasn’t the protagonist of anything,” André recalled when Maugeri asked him how he felt about being the boyfriend of Mirtha Legrand, the godmother of Caras TV, in the play.

The actor also confessed: “That’s what happened. Daniel and Mirtha came to see me at the theatre because they had heard about me. The cast was complete, but they needed the leading man. I went the next day and passed the audition.” Remembering fondly those moments that marked the beginning of his career, he said: “At the theatre, people were dying to see Mirtha. I remember that the greetings were wonderful, that theatre was wonderful.”

His participation in the play 40 Kilates marked a before and after in his profession and placed him in the sights of important producers and, above all, the public.

Later, another performance that marked her growth as a figure was in 1975, when she was part of a highly renowned soap opera called “Piel Naranja” together with Soledad Silveyra, which marked a milestone in the history of television.
