The government will make it easier for small businesses to obtain the status of a resident of the Arctic zone. This will happen due to the approval of the list of activities that are not subject to the requirement for investment in real estate. The corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on October 20, information about this was published on Saturday.
“Previously, each organization applying for the status assumed the obligation to invest in the reconstruction or construction of real estate objects. Now an exception will be made for certain spheres of activity, ”the government’s website said in a statement.
Companies working in one of 58 areas will be able to obtain resident status, including animal husbandry, forestry, metal processing, furniture, clothing, paper and leather goods production, publishing, waste collection and disposal, educational services and healthcare.
The government has listed the preferences that companies with resident status can receive. Among them are lower rates on taxes and insurance premiums, privileges for the lease of land plots, cheap loans, as well as a free customs zone procedure.
In April, Russia approved an action plan for the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of the Arctic Zone and the Fundamentals of State Policy in the Arctic, adopted as a continuation of the Strategy for the Development of the Arctic Zone until 2035, as well as the Fundamentals of State Policy in the Arctic, approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2020.
