The Franc-Comtois came very close to victory, this Thursday, during the 4^e stage of the Tour of the Alps. Upon arrival, tears flowed.

Propelled alone in the lead 10 km from the finish (after catching the good breakaway of about fifteen riders 70 km from the finish) during the 4^e stage of the Tour of the Alps (Villabassa-Kals am Grossglockner; 142.4km), this Thursday, Thibaut Pinot could not resist the return of the Colombian Miguel Angel Lopez (Astana), nicknamed Superman, who overtook the rider of the Groupama-FDJ team in the last kilometer.

Very moved, the Franc-Comtois (finally 2nd in the stage) told the L’Équipe channel: “ It sucks, in the last kilometers, I thought about what I had been through in recent years. It’s another missed opportunity, we know that among the pros there are not many of them. We’ll see tomorrow and next week (Tour of Romandie)but it would have been good to win today (this Thursday) and turn this shitty page. »
