The Prime Minister of the Italian Republic, Giorgia Meloni, along with the producer of the film “Sound of Freedom” and president of the Viva México Movement, Eduardo Verastegui, signed an agreement in which they committed to fighting to eradicate any type of child trafficking in Italy and Europe.

Prime Minister Meloni leads in Europe the foray of the global children’s freedom movement against slavery, which was sparked by the film “Sound of Freedom”.

It also establishes a strong work commitment together, promoting concrete actions in the field of civil society to raise awareness, prevention and protection of children, including the screening of the film in all public schools in the Italian Republic.

Last Friday the 12th, Verástegui presented the film to Meloni, who hosted the screening of “Sound of Freedom” at a private event aimed at raising awareness and protect children in the face of this crime that impacts Europe and the entire world.

During the meeting, Verástegui and Meloni exchanged visions and strategies in matters of security and the fight against trafficking of children for sexual exploitation.

The screening of the film was also attended by the Italian Minister of Education, Giuseppe Valditaraand the Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano.

As for the agreement, following the same line as the letters of commitment signed between the Viva México Movement and leaders of different countries.

It specifies that “the very serious problem of trafficking in children and adolescents for the purposes of sexual exploitation and organ trafficking represents a problem that transcends the borders of our countries and is strengthened by both internal and global networks of corruption and crime, directed by criminal organizations. National and international”.

It recognizes that “all social, academic, political, cultural, religious actors and sectors and, in general, all people, are obliged to commit themselves with special consideration for the children and adolescents who inhabit our respective nations and the entire planet, many of them. “who live the atrocious experience of being captured and exploited for sexual purposes and for the sale of organs.”

They pointed out that it is of utmost importance to work through institutions, businessmen, organized civil society and public administration and consider the tools and means that are necessary to generate prevention, care and rehabilitation of victimswhile strengthening the institutions that are involved in the fight against this crime.

Also, implement protocols for the identification and care of children victims of trafficking and exploitationand promote the application of codes of conduct in the tourism and transportation sector for the protection of children.
