Italian School: Students Play More Sports – Sports

BOLZANO. In the 2023/24 school year, 41 events were organized in Italian-language schools, which touched on almost all existing sports disciplines and which saw an average of 372 participants per event, with peaks of over 700 students. In particular, participation involved 3,703 students from primary schools, 9,394 students from lower secondary schools and 2,154 students from upper secondary schools.

Furthermore, over one hundred students from lower and upper secondary schools, including students with disabilities, had the opportunity to participate in the Student Championship Finals, organized by the Ministry of Education and Merit, which were held in Pescara (athletics), Palermo (handball) and Piana del Sele (Salerno) in rugby. “A special thanks goes to Cristina Sartori, Astrid Ferrari, Lorenz Clara and Walter Pollawho work assiduously for school sports and for the realization of many projects between schools and managements. School sports is a fundamental pillar for the growth of young people and we will therefore continue to work to offer ever greater opportunities for participation”, concluded the superintendent Vincenzo Gullotta.

In the calendar for the 2024/25 school year, sports activities will also be extended to the schools of Bassa Atesina, Dobbiaco, Santa Cristina and Malles. In view of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympic Games, a promotional event will be held on 6 February 2025, in collaboration with the Organizing Committee, to promote lifestyles among local school children.
