(ANSA) – LIDO DI VENEZIA, 07 SEPTEMBER – Taxi Monamour by Ciro De Caro with Rosa Palasciano and Yeva Sai has won the Giornate degli Autori Audience Award at Venice 81. Greeted by a standing ovation and ten minutes of applause at its Venice premiere, the film is now in Italian theaters distributed by Adler Entertainment. “Being the only Italian in competition at the Giornate degli Autori was already an award, winning the Audience Award, for me who have been a regular visitor to the Giornate degli Autori over the years as a spectator, is an enormous joy”, says De Caro. “We are grateful to the audience of the Giornate degli Autori for having awarded Taxi Monamour such an important and significant award”, say the producers of KimeraFilm, MFF and Adler Entertainment. Taxi Monamour, produced by Simone Isola and Giuseppe Lepore for Kimerafilm, in association with Michael Fantauzzi for MFF, in collaboration with Rai Cinema, with Adler Entertainment and with the contribution of the Ministry of Culture, is a film that celebrates the female universe, following the adventures of two protagonists dealing with important personal and social challenges. Written by the director together with Rosa Palasciano, it tells the story of Anna (played by Palasciano herself) and Nadiya (played by Yeva Sai, a Ukrainian actress among the protagonists of Mare fuori), two women who are apparently different, but who are very similar in their depths. Anna is in conflict with herself and her family and faces her illness alone; Nadiya is fleeing from a war that is keeping her away from home. Everyone advises Anna to follow her partner on a business trip and Nadiya to stay safe in Italy. The meeting, although brief, will be a dive into freedom. The cast also includes Valerio Di Benedetto, Ivan Castiglione, Matteo Quinzi, Taras Synyshyn, Halyna Havryliv and Laurentina Guidotti. (ANSA).
