The 20 Hours sets out to discover the cave of Neptune in Sardinia (Italy). It is one of the largest in Italy, reached by a staircase of 650 steps.

Bordered by waters of unreal colors, Cape Cascia encloses in its thousand-year-old cliffs one of the most mysterious places in Italy. The easiest way to get there is by boat with a 30-minute cruise. Once there, you come across Neptune’s cave, formed more than two million years ago and stretching over four kilometres. It is sculpted by drops of water. Discovered by a fisherman in the 18th century, it is not always easy to navigate.

An almost intact cave

It is interesting to see this cavity so close to the sea“says a tourist. Neptune’s cave is not just a tourist attraction. It is also a place of scientific research. Giampiero Murgia has been a speleologist for 20 years, and found an underwater part dug out. “Now they are underwater. It’s a wonderful sight”, he says. Although millennial, the cave continues to evolve and change shape. “The cave is maintained despite the visits”continues the speleologist.
