On the 25th, immediately after the ‘Special Prosecutor Act for Private First Class Chae’ was rejected in the National Assembly, the plenary session hall was filled with shouting between the ruling and opposition parties. When a ruling party member said, “(The plenary session hall) is a mess,” National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik strongly criticized him, saying, “Watch your words,” and started a verbal war.

On that day, when the special prosecutor bill for Private First Class Chae was rejected, members of the Marine Corps Reserve Regiment sitting in the gallery in the main conference hall chanted slogans demanding the introduction of a new special prosecutor bill. In response, People Power Party Rep. Kang Min-guk protested to Speaker Woo, saying, “Isn’t the spectators leaving?” and “What do you mean, a mess? Watch your words,” raising his voice at Rep. Kang. After that, Speaker Woo and Rep. Kang argued over the “mess” comment for about four minutes.

The Democratic Party of Korea went to the National Assembly Rotunda Hall and held a rally to condemn the People Power Party immediately after the special prosecutor bill for Private First Class Chae was rejected. In response, the People Power Party protested, saying that the rally was held without agreement between the ruling and opposition parties during the plenary session.

People Power Party floor leader Choo Kyung-ho went up to the podium and strongly protested to Speaker Woo, saying, “(The Democratic Party) held a protest without reaching an agreement with the ruling party.” The ruling party said that there was no agreement. In response, Democratic Party floor leader and acting party leader Park Chan-dae and People Power Party senior deputy floor leader Bae Joon-young came out, and the four of them argued for about six minutes. Eventually, they reached an agreement that each party would make a statement on the progress of the meeting.

In the motion for action, Democratic Party floor leader Park Geun-hye claimed, “When the ruling and opposition parties held rallies and protests over issues where they had different opinions, we gave them time to protest,” and “I told floor leader Choo Mi-ae and senior deputy floor leader Bae Mi-ae in advance that if the special prosecutor bill for Choi Sang-byeong was rejected, we would hold a 15-20 minute rallies.” She continued, “I clearly asked for their understanding, and there are people who saw it, so don’t deny it,” and “Is continuing to lie a symbol of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration?”

In addition, floor leader Park said about Rep. Kang’s “mess” remark, “Is the People Power Party itself admitting that this is a mess?” and “I strongly condemn this. They should apologize.” He continued his criticism by asking, “Where else can you find such a case?”

Bae, the People Power Party’s floor leader, said, “I am truly disappointed,” and “It is even more regrettable that he came to this sacred place and lied.” He continued, “It is true that floor leader Park came to my seat and spoke (about the protest),” but criticized, “But the Democratic Party is always like a notification.” He then asked Speaker Woo, “Please give a fair judgment and look at society so that the Speaker of the National Assembly can receive greetings from all 300 people,” and “Where else can you find a playground that is tilted like this?”

Bae, the floor leader, said, “The current speaker of the National Assembly is an independent, but he is siding with the Democratic Party,” and “The Democratic Party is oppressing the minority party too tyrannically.” He strongly criticized, saying, “Aren’t you (the Democratic Party) a one-man dictatorship party right now?” and “While your party leader’s approval ratings are soaring, yours are plummeting.”
