Singer HYNN (real name Park Hye-won) told the story of the birth of her stage name, which recently attracted a lot of attention.
HYNN appeared on KBS Cool FM’s ‘Lee Eun-ji’s Song Plaza’ on the 18th and talked about how her stage name became a hot topic after the recent news of author Han Kang‘s Nobel Prize in Literature. After her debut, HYNN revealed through various media outlets that she read Han Kang’s novel ‘White’ and was so impressed and resonated with it that she chose her stage name after it.
HYNN said, “It has recently become a name I am proud of,” adding, “Before my debut, my activity name was a concern. At that time, I read a novel called ‘White’ by author Han Kang that the CEO at the time recommended, and the sentence ‘I will only give you white things, even if they get dirty’ said, ‘I want to become this kind of singer.’ “I took the name ‘White’ because I thought I should become a singer who delivers only white things, such pure music, and only such messages,” he explained.
Previously, on the 10th, HYNN congratulated author Han Kang on the news of his winning the Nobel Prize in Literature. He said through his agency, “Through the novel ‘White,’ I decided to make music with a sincere and pure heart, no matter what storms or wounds I face while living as an individual and a musician.”
He continued, “As I read Han Kang’s ‘The Vegetarian’ and ‘The Boy Is Coming’ and other works, I thought he was a respectable writer who deeply penetrates the times and the world and touches people’s hearts.” He continued, “Today’s news about the author’s Nobel Prize in Literature. I was really happy to hear it. “I would like to convey my sincere and heartfelt congratulations, and I am even more proud of the fact that this Korean work has touched the world with the author’s unique perspective and insight,” he said.
