“It’s apostasy”, says Pastor Hayashi about Pri Alcântara at Carnival

by time news

A video posted by pastor Teo Hayashi on social media has been giving us something to talk about. This is because, in its content, the religious leader makes scathing criticism of the participation of the former gospel Pri Alcântara in this year’s Carnival, where she sang alongside Ivete Sangalo in an electric trio, in Bahia.

As one of the organizers of The Send, which brings together thousands of young people inside and outside Brazil, and which Priscilla Alcântara was already a part of when she performed in 2020, Teo Hayashi said that he felt obliged to make an alert to young evangelicals.

“In the face of silence and a vacuum of clarification, any narrative can be installed. The intention is not to attack, but to protect the truisms and pillars of faith that sustain the young Christian and will sustain the church of tomorrow”, explained the pastor.

“That, for me, is apostasy”, says Hayashi in the recording, explaining that “there is no way” a person can lead a praise to God in church, but at the same time want to perform in something like Carnival.

“There is no way we can agree with this. I’m here to tell you, young evangelicals who may have a little confusion, a question mark in your head: this is not the gospel! This is not what the Word teaches us.”

Many followers of Hayashi agreed with his warning, considering that Pri Alcântara is a public person, whose influence is publicly exercised over millions of young people, and that although he no longer belongs to the gospel world, artistically speaking, he continues to position himself on matters related to faith. Christian.

That is, those who supported Pastor Hayashi believe that public figures like Pri Alcântara need to be publicly refuted, since their positions are also public.

“Sensational! It’s not about a person, but about a position against a growing confusion! It is one thing to be a light in the world, it is another to be a voice of what the world itself preaches”, commented a follower.

On the other hand, some criticized the recording of the video, stating that exposing Pri Alcântara’s mistakes does not contribute to his life. The vocalist of the evangelical band Palankin, known as Ana Rock, reacted through social networks:

“Several religious leaders USED AND ABUSED Priscilla Alcântara to FILL their EVENTS and consequently R$, now they make a point of recording videos talking about the girl who is following life outside the church”, commented Ana.

“The treatment is different for these more famous ones”, says the vocalist. “Now, how do you disciple a generation that believes influence is ‘anointing’ (whatever it may be) and that having numbers means that the person is ‘something’ besides just another sheep in the pasture? They are angry because they lost their golden calf.”

“Respect the girl who decided to follow her truth and life. She follows what she believes. Now, if it’s the Truth, with a capital V, then it’s another 500 for a bar or coffee table. Not Twitter”, concluded the member of Palankin. Watch and draw your conclusions:
