“It’s not real, I’m quoting what you wrote”

The minister of information is angry: There has been a lot of talk recently about the blocking of Ayalon routes by the protesters opposing the legal reform. Time after time, the police deal with some of the protesters who want to block the Ayalon routes. The Minister of Information commented on the issue this evening (Saturday) and in a tweet on Twitter she quoted an article by the Wah website from 2005 and wrote: “What can be done with protesters who block a road? Here is one piece of advice: ” writes the minister and then brings the quote written in Vala: “Go down to Ayalon in large groups with Heavy chains, sprouts or just fists with a loose nizra, and wait to see who the idiot was who insisted on blocking roads.”

The source of the quote – an editorial in 2005

The minister then explained the source of the quote. What happened next, is that the Walla website itself quoted Minister Atabrian’s tweet and wrote the quote one by one. The person who responded to the tweet is the same Walla site that tweeted: “Minister Distel against the protesters” and in addition wrote the same quote that the site itself put up in 2005. Later on the Walla website deleted the tweet.

“What did they do in Walla? They published the tweet that quotes *them*!”

Minister Distal Atabrian herself reacted strongly to the website’s tweet and wrote: “No, it’s not real. In 2005, Walla published a violent article about how the bones of secession demonstrators who wanted to block a road should be broken. Tonight I quoted from the article. What did they do at Walla? They published the tweet who quotes *them*! And pretend that I wrote it about the protestors. There is no low that the Israeli media will not descend to. There is none.”
