Oliver Kahn turns 54
Oliver Kahn was born on June 15, 1969 in Karlsruhe, where he grew up and graduated from high school in 1988. He then began studying economics at the Fernuniversität Hagen. In 2009 he continued his studies at an Austrian private university, where he studied “General Management” until 2011 and obtained a Master of Business Administration.
His love for football began at the young age of six. He began gaining experience at Karlsruher SC and was on the substitutes’ bench for the club as early as 1987.
His Bundesliga debut followed in November 1987, with which he already made a name for himself as a goalkeeper. In 1994 he finally switched to FC Bayern Munich, who paid 2.3 million euros for Kahn. That was the highest amount ever paid for a goalkeeper.

Numerous victories followed, including a UEFA Cup, six League Cups, eight German championships, a UEFA Champions League Cup, six DFB Cups and a World Cup. To this day there is no goalkeeper who has won the DFB Cup more often than Oliver Kahn.
His active soccer career ended on May 17, 2008. After that, he was seen as a soccer expert on ZDF for twelve years. After he ended his television career in 2020, he became an entrepreneur on the board of FC Bayern. Oliver Kahn has been CEO of FC Bayern Munich since July 2021.
Away from football, Oliver Kahn often made headlines with his private life. He left his first wife Simone, whom he married in 1999 and with whom he has two children, in 2003 during her second pregnancy for the then 22-year-old Verena Kerth.
The relationship with Verena ended in 2008 when he returned to his wife. However, the marriage broke up just a year later.
In July 2011, Kahn married the model Svenja Kögel, with whom he had two more children and has lived with his family in Munich ever since. In 2023, the Bayern boss will have a luxury villa built on Mallorca as a holiday home for himself and his family.
