In a press release published on Friday, the ANS announced that it was going to file an appeal before the administrative court as part of an interim release investigation. She explained requiring “the removal of the grids at the bottom of the stands of the Stade de France” and “their replacement by secure devices without danger such as butterfly barriers, the presence of stewards”. Before continuing: “If there are serious incidents, the prefecture and the FFF will have to assume. In the event of an incident (fire, bomb, terrorist attack, etc.) preventing the grandstand from being left at the top, there will be a crushing phenomenon on the barriers at the bottom of the grandstand”. The association deplores the treatment of supporters: “Like at the zoo, we cage wild animals. However, it is well known, the wild beasts go in turns. On the other hand, the wise and erudite animals are in the side stands. The smartest among them even go to the dressing room, where alcohol is allowed (because they know how to behave themselves)”.
The ANS was not the only one to react. On its Twitter account, the Association of Disabled Liverpool Supporters, whose club took part in the tragic dramas of Heysel and Hillsborough, which cost the lives of a hundred people, also strongly attacked this decision: “It is is a shocking fact. Less than a year after the horrible events at the Stade de France, it’s sickening. Installing fences in a football stadium is an eyesore. Have those responsible for our security learned nothing from past tragedies? Take them off! “.
Liverpool supporters also remain traumatized by their experience during the Champions League at the Stade de France last year, the organization of which they still have not digested.
