She could even take over the leadership of the state now! “It seems like torture to me.” Spanish television presenter Jorge Javier Váquez (53) also thinks that this is too much responsibility for such a young girl. “I’m getting pretty cold. Maybe I even feel sorry for her,” the presenter admits bluntly on his show when he thinks about Leonor’s future. “It seems like torture to me to have to go to music concerts that don’t suit you, to have dinner with people , who don’t interest you in the slightest, to have to smile – purely out of a sense of duty.” His viewers are probably thinking that too: The Crown Princess will have to give up her life for the monarchy. In her birthday speech, the heir to the throne emphasized that she was aware of her duties and the responsibility that her position entails. Still, many are worried that the pressure might be too much for her. “Knowing that you can’t fool around with anyone on WhatsApp because fate has it that one day you’ll have to wear the crown of Queen of Spain,” she says Jorge Javier Váquez unimaginable. At least the princess doesn’t have to go it alone: her parents have lovingly assured her of support and assistance so that she doesn’t have to dedicate herself entirely to the great task of becoming the crown on her own.
