Kochi: Film star Seema Shashi will inaugurate the one-day IV Shashi Film Festival (Medimix Utsavam 2022) organized by MACTA and FCC 1983, on Thursday, December 22 at Cinepolis Theater Complex, Central Square Mall, Ernakulam at 9 am. Top five films directed by IV Shashi will be screened at the film festival. IV at 11 am at a specially prepared venue on the ground floor of the mall. Vidyadharan Master Berni Ignatius Shibu Chakraborty B K Harinarayanan will participate in the seminar based on immortal songs from Shashi films.
There will be an open forum on the topic ‘Contemporary relevance of IV Shashi films’ at 2 pm. Renowned screenwriter SN Swamy, actor Ramu, film critic Dr Aju K Narayanan and media activist Manish Narayanan will be present. Cochin Corporation Mayor M Anil Kumar will inaugurate the commemorative meeting at 5 pm. Filmmaker and chief guest Sreekumaran Thambi will deliver a memorial lecture at the function presided over by MACTA Chairman McCartin. In the conference venue, IV Sasi’s wife and actress Seema, producers PV Gangadharan NG John, Liberty Basheer, Century Kochumon, VBK Menon, screenwriters Ranjith, Babu Janardhanan, IV Sasi’s disciple and famous directors Anil, Rasheed Karapuzha Shajun Karial MA Venu Vinu Anand Padmakumar will be honoured.
Jury Chairman and Director Kamal will present the awards to the competition winners of this year’s International Short Movie Festival “MISMF2022” organized by MACTA at the same venue. Macta chairman and director McCartin said at a press conference held in Kochi that a film tribute based on the songs of IV Shashi’s films will be staged. Directors Padmakumar, Sohan Seenu Lal, Program General Convener Sudhir CA, Vipin Ameya and Collins Leophile participated.
