The jury in the United States decided tonight to order the filing of criminal charges against former President Donald Trump, and his daughter, Ivanka Trump, is expected not to stand by her father’s side facing the legal proceedings against him – as reported by US media.
A source close to her quoted in the media says that “even though Ivanka loves her father, she knows how ‘impossible’ he can be”, and therefore she intends even now to continue to keep her distance from her father, the former president.
He explained that she still loves her father, but she prefers to raise her children and not be involved in politics anymore. According to him, Ivanka is “rebuilding her business career and raising her children, which are her priorities. She is done with politics.”
“Donald does what he wants, and she can’t help him now. His help is in the hands of his lawyers and advisers. She no longer works in this position. She wants a new life to make up for what she lost when she spent four years in Washington with her father,” says the source. “She misses the active social life in New York and her group of friends.”
Remember, after her father announced that he was launching another election campaign for the US presidency, Ivanka made it clear that she would not be involved as she had been in his previous campaigns.
“This time I choose to prioritize my young children and the private life we create as a family,” she said in a statement released hours after announcing the next election campaign in 2024. “I don’t plan to get involved in politics,” continued Ivanka – and added: “Although I will always love and support my father, I will do so outside the political arena.”
